Luckily for us, a city statute does not allow dogs and cats to be sold in a commercial establishment in the City of Ann Arbor.  Private breeders are allowed to sell puppies from their homes.  However, we suggest your first stop in looking for a new dog is Petfinder where you can find hundreds of local dogs who need to find forever homes. 

Our local humane society, the Humane Society of Huron Valley is on Petfinder, but you can also go directly to their website to view their adoptable dogs.

If you are interested in a purebred puppy and you cannot find one on Petfinder, contact the Ann Arbor Kennel Club to see if they know about any litters available.  You can also look at the American Kennel Club website, select the breed you are interested in and find a local puppy referral person to contact.  They should be able to direct you to litters of well bred puppies in the area.
